Easter Sunday in Caronia, Sicily

We skipped the ‘it is a holiday, all shops are closed’ problem by doing some minimal shopping the day before … but for lunch we took a nice 1.5km walk along the rocky pebble beach and finally found one of the other few restaurants in town ‘La Sirena’ … again people were surprised to get guests and the was again no printed menu .. instead a lot of talking and hand gestures …

So, we ended up with some great seafood pasta and another mixed platter of grilled seafood … all very nice, less wine and no pizza this time .. 35€ damage …

Walk back home, nap time, but not according to Julius … so I went to the beach with him, just to throw rocks and look at the waves and it was a lot of fun.

For dinner I made some pasta with the things we had bought the day before and happy and full we went to bed.

I always imagined Sicily to be very hot, but I guess that applies only to summer … and the houses are built in a way to keep the heat out .. which means in April .. it is COLD …
