Sounds of Fiji: Lali Drum

Finally I got a recording of this traditional Fijian drum

This has been used as an alarm clock and in church ceremonies and is now used in pretty much every resort to announce mealtimes. So this was Max on the drums in Toberua.

In our neighborhood we get to hear it (faintly, thank god) around 5 AM from the police school near by.

I’m here in Brisbane, Australia and I’m needing to play it before the church prelims begins.

    Do you have any suggestions?
