Our humble dinner at Honjin Ryokan

Ritsu found us a very nice, traditional ryokan for the night. And as it is custom, multi course Japanese food is included. So, after taking a Japanese style bath (and a nap) we were called into the dining room to find THIS:

There is no way I can name all this: Let’s see, starting top left: Sashimi. Soup served in a small teapot with meatball and this funky star thingy. Chawanmushi. Grilled fish. Pickles. Fried porcupine fish. Chicken stew. Sweet potato (?). Orange for dessert.

Ok, and here is also next day’s breakfast

Not pictured: tofu steamed in soup with mushrooms.
